WHAT IS LIVE ACTION ROLEPLAYING?

LARP is something you may have heard called Interactive Literature, Freeform, LRP, Live Action Roleplaying Game, or any similar term. We use the term LARP because it is the most common term in use today. We do not intend to exclude any one type of event. Our focus is on the interactive aspect of games, rather than the rules or setting. So games that involve the interactive creation of a story are the sort that we are primarily working to promote, whether they have item cards, costuming, padded weapons, or none of these.

WHAT IS INTERCON MID-ATLANTIC?

Intercon Mid-Atlantic is a Convention dedicated principally to Live Action Roleplaying. IMA is one of several Intercons which are licensed by the Live Action Roleplayers Association. Intercons agree to an open bid process with equal access for anyone who is interested in offering LARPs, and are not operated chiefly to promote a specific gaming group or type of game.

IMA focuses on presenting quality LARP in an intimate setting. We pride ourselves on being a premier venue for novel and experimental work, and having a very heavy attendance by GMs involved in the ongoing creation and production of Live Action Roleplaying.

IMA is also a very informal and social convention, featuring parties, panels and a general "Con Suite as LARPer Living Room" environment.
